The Overachieving S*#Tshow has landed

If you’re here, you’ve probably spent the last decade winning at everything—except, maybe, your own peace of mind. You have the degree, the career, the community impact, and the "Best At Everything" trophy, but you’re also one minor inconvenience away from a total meltdown in a Target parking lot.

Welcome to the club.

As a PhD-level therapist and a woman who knows the exact weight of a heavy "to-do" list, I launched the Overachieving Shitshow Podcast. This isn't another "how-to" guide on optimizing your morning routine or drinking more kale. It’s a space to talk about the reality of burnout, the lie of "having it all," and why our nervous systems are screaming for a break.

What to Expect (Besides My Dry Humor and F bombs)

We are diving deep into the intersections of mental health, culture, and activism without the academic fluff. Here’s the vibe:

  • Burnout Rebranded: We’re moving past "just take a bubble bath" and getting into the actual mechanics of why professionals are hitting a wall and giving up on jobs, isolating, and feeling exhausted all the time.

  • Cultural Context: Your burnout doesn't exist in a vacuum. We have been discussing how culture, identity, and community activism play into our exhaustion. I have interviewed a diverse group of women and have a lot of others who are ready to tell their stories.

  • Boundaries > Hustle: Real talk on how to say "no" without feeling like a failure. I have heard from every guest that they have had to start saying NO and sometimes HELL NO to extra duties, volunteering, and jobs to protect their sanity. You will hear how we all need to set different boundaries and stick to them!

  • Humanity Over Optimization: Learning to be "good enough" so you can actually enjoy the life you worked so hard to build.

Why "Shitshow"?

Because "High-Achieving Professional with Manageable Stress" was a lie. We’re smart, we’re capable, and we’re doing a lot but sometimes, it’s a mess. And that’s okay. Acknowledging the mess is the first step to actually fixing it.

For example, most people would get the branding done, figure out equipment, start a social media campaign, and then launch the podcast. I did that all mixed up but here I am now! My episodes drop weekly (unless I’m too tired) and my guests keep it real.
